Bhatias are back~Marymoor Park, Redmond WA

My dear friends are back.  This always makes me overjoyed for the session.  I know how to make them laugh and what to talk about right off the bat.  Awkwardness averted!

This particular day we happened to watch the weather and got the only hour of the day that wasn’t a downpour.  There were gusts of wind and sprinkles that we could use for a great session.  We were lucky the weatherman was on point that day.  Due to the weather, no one else was at the park, which is always a plus.  I don’t need to wait while someone passes or have to crop them out.  It’s just me and the subjects goofing off.  I love it!

This family is very special to me.  We’ve gone on vacations together now for years with our family.  We call it going to crazy town (I have no real reason why, we just do). :)-  Ah the memories!!!  LOVE YOU GUYS to the moon and back!!

So here are my highlights!

Meet the Kershaws~Redmond Family Portraits

Fall has been so brilliant this year.  Saturated with rich color from all our sunshine!  We have thoroughly be enjoying ourselves.  One of the highlights for us was a visit to Bob’s corn maze.  I would probably never make it out so I always bring along someone with a good sense of direction and mapping skills.

I recently saw one of my favorite little clients along with her whole family.  She is chalk full of personality.  I even kept some of the outtakes for the family because were too good to miss.  We explored more of their property which has changed (I can see they’ve been working hard) since the last time I was out about a year ago.  They have the perfect spot with privacy galore, a stream, and tons of running space.  Any kid would be in heaven here, big or small.

We ended the session with headshots for mama.  I wanted to let you all know that I do that type of work and can make it a combo like I did for this family.

♥Here’s my favorites♥

Thank you so much Shannon for having me photograph you and your family.

You’re beautiful inside and out.  I love your sweet little girlie and all the animals.

What a sanctuary you have here. xoxo

Meet Josiah and Cami~Bear Creek Country Club

Seeing and feeling another person’s happiness can be contagious.  You walk away feeling butterflies yourself!  And the couple below is very special to me.  Cami is one of my oldest friends.  She was a bridesmaid in my own wedding so many years ago.  So I have countless memories to share about her and I.  We go as far back as Junior High.  You know, the awkward goofy time in life.

My first memory of us is a camping trip.  We of course got in trouble one night singing “American Pie” with some older neighboring campers.  I just smile thinking about it…..  We are also connected by the loss of some amazing loved ones in our lives.  So we have a very strong friendship that will always be there.  No matter how much time passes or life changes our friendship picks up right where it left off.  Whatever she needs I’ll be there!

I hope you guys enjoy my favorite images!  Our location is the Bear Creek Country Club.  This also brings back many memories for me since I worked here as a banquet server back in the college days.  I had a lot of fun at that job!

I am so excited about your wedding.  I am so honored to photograph your special day!  You two are such a great match!  I wish you the happiness you both deserve forever!  LOVE you!  XOXO

Meet the Nereson/Gades~private home

This was my last session of 2011.  This past year marked growth for my little business.  My passion hasn’t wavered.  If anything its burning a little hotter now.  So watch out 2012.!  I’m hoping to make it a fierce, remarkable one.  I’m going to work on speeding up my workflow, sticking to my schedule,  and jumping higher out of my comfort zone.  Oh yeah and breaking more rules, entering more contests, traveling, and exploring more genres of photography.

This session was so much fun.  They have such a sweet pooch and an amazing little boy.  His super smart vocabulary and energy kept me on my feet.  Mom and Dad are so involved teaching him how to do just about everything.  Even teaching him the art of fly tying.  I hope you enjoy my favorites from our session.  That last one really says it all doesn’t it?!  We had a great time together.

I can’t thank you guys enough for choosing to come to me.  You were even willing to sit in the wagon for me!  What great sports you guys are.

Meet the Ranganathans~Juanita Bay Park

This last Saturday I met up with this adorable couple to take family photos that celebrate their eight years of marriage.  We headed to a great locations at Juanita Bay Park. They have such wonderful positive energy surrounding them.  I can tell they enjoy life and enjoy it together (being around people like this is one of the perks of my business).  I fell in love with their dog, Meera, who has lots of energy and spunk.

Every time I go to this location I see many other photographers using this spot.  That day was no exception.  I like to find spots that don’t have a million onlookers watching us.  I know that would make me nervous if I was the person on the other side of the lens.

I learned something from this couple.  I will never take for granted that my family is all within driving distance.  I would miss them immensely if I could only visit them once or twice a year.  Thank goodness for the internet to stay in touch!  So this blog is dedicated to the Ranganathan and Phadke family in India!

Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your family’s happiness and love!  I had a wonderful time trotting around the park with you guys and left enlightened and happy myself.  Here’s to a lifetime of happy years together!

Best in Show

First of all, that is one of the funniest movies I happen to adore.  Second, we have a little beauty on our hands over here.  We have welcomed a new puppy into our hearts.  In fact, I’ve been having so much fun that I hadn’t posted any pictures of her for days and received this message on FB:

What in the world, you take photos of leaves, rocks, moss etc and you get a new puppy and you haven’t uploaded ONE photo yet?!?! Come on Amber, put that little puppy in a cut little outfit, get him in your “yuen lui” studio and take a family portrait. I want to see him. So did Dylan Freak out?? Names?? My vote is for Bob, Verdell or Norman. 🙂

Of course this message was from a dear friend.  I died of laughter.  So now our puppy, Miley is posted all over my facebook and now deserves her mug on my blog as well.

These are some of the cute things my son says to her

  • its your big brother(over and over)
  • Oh you’re a sweet little angel
  • aren’t you just the cutest thing
