Defeat

Sometimes life leaves us in a predicament we weren’t prepared for or dislike. We have a decision to make. We can walk away and feel sorry for ourselves or do we turn around and pick up that rope and try again. Is it worth another failure? Do we have faith in ourselves that we can conquer the task and preform? Or do we need a helping hand? Sometimes that helping hand can be a deterrent. It can hinder us from taking the leap to standing on our own two feet and learn the skill we needed in the first place.

I can tell you what type of person I am. I’m the one that turns around and tries to defeat the odds. Hopefully, my son will learn that for himself too. We had a great time jumping rope and just thought I could learn from this photograph.

It’s time to dust off my shoulders, breath, and start anew. It’s time to face my challenges and fears and step it up. It’s time to look forward, cut the strings, and not look back. The past may be etched in stone, but the future is clean. The future is the important part of life. Live it with passion and purpose. When some unwanted hurdle comes in the way, think of ballet and leap over it. Press on in love. Fill your day with happiness despite the world around us. It’s crumbling and I refuse to be crushed.

Would that everyone had that same attitude.
